Description of the route by the creator
Today's objective: to reach the 3 Goals (mountain summits). Quite a long and demanding hike to reach all the Goals. Park at the large parking lot at the Col de la Rousset resort. The start of the path is not signposted, so first reach the toboggan park, then go around it to the right through the field (fairly steep ascent). You then join a path leading up to the first But: But de Nève. Magnificent views over the whole of the southern Vercors. As you look up to the sky, you may come across the griffon vultures that were reintroduced a few years ago. Descend to the left of the But (no marked path) to reach the Chironne forest road for over 2 kilometers. Join the path that runs along the right-hand side of the cliff (the path along the cliff will be taken on the way back). You'll come across one of the few watering holes (Fontaine du Plainet) in this part of the region. Once you've reached the edge of the cliff, turn left to reach the second goal: But Saint-Genix. Enjoy the beautiful view over the Dromois and the Ambel plateau to the west. Return along the same path and follow the cliff to the last But: But de l'Aiglette. Continue to follow the cliff (but don't get too close to the edge) to reach the forest and then the old path. Take the path just above the road (last climb of the walk) to join the summer toboggan run and return to the parking lot.
